Sunday night the Emmys will be handed out (and we’ll have a full wrap-up Monday), but then the fall season begins in earnest. Though a few shows have already gotten out of the gate (Fox always starts early), by and large the unofficial start date for the 2013-2014 TV season is Monday, September 23, 2013. Now, if you don’t see your favorite show up there (say, Community), remember that a lot of the networks are following the cable model of fewer repeats to retain viewership. This means shows finish more quickly and mid-season replacements are more important than ever.
