New Poster for Disney’s Frozen

Frozen, Disney

Disney has released a new poster for their Snow Queen-based animated film, Frozen.  The first trailer was fun, but I’m looking forward to a real trailer.  Tangled was so much fun; it’d be great to have another Disney classic to look forward to at the holidays.

The voice cast includes Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Josh Gad, Santino Fontana, and Alan  Tudyk.  Official synopsis below, Frozen will open nationwide on November 27, 2013.

In Frozen, a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, so Anna (voice of Bell) must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the Snow Queen (voice of Menzel) and put an end to the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at  every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.

I wanted to do something different to mark 1,000 posts.  I never thought I’d be doing it a little under nine months after I started.  I never thought I’d DO a thousand of these, let alone feel like I was just starting.  These are my favorite movies.  They’re not the BEST movies I’ve seen.  The difference that I know that Citizen Kane is a better movie than Monty Python and the Holy Grail, but-if pressed-I’m taking a Trojan Rabbit with me to the hypothetical desert island.  Because of the rise of franchises and episodic film-making, my rule (and the beauty of making your own list is you make your own rules) is that a franchise counts as one entry and that I can select the entrants that make up the best version of that franchise to me.  Aside from that, I just had fun making it.  I hope, perhaps, that some of you will make your own and we can snark at each other’s choices.

Thanks to all the visitors and friends over these last nine months.  It’s a little thing, but it’s actually not to me right now to be able to write and bring some cool stuff to friends I’ve known for years and friends I’ve made just writing this blog.  You’ve all been very welcoming, very kind and I’ve enjoyed talking with you about the cool little things that help us kill time in-between all the things we’d rather not be doing.  Thank you, you little demented hamsters, you.  Thank you.
