Achievement/Trophy List for Batman: Arkham Origins Reveals New Characters

Xbox 360 Achievements has posted the list for the upcoming third game in the Arkham series and, while it’s not spoilery, it does give us a few more confirmed characters either in single or multiplayer.  Anarky, Riddler, Bane, Robin and Lady Shiva are all mentioned by name in various achievements.  I always liked Anarky and thought he was an underused character.  Batman Arkham Origins will release for PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 25th.

Developed by WB Games Montréal, Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City.

Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, players will meet many important characters for the first time and forge key relationships.

Black Mask is the game’s key villain.  He’s hired eight assassins to kill Batman, a younger Batman than we’ve seen in the other games, during the holiday season in Gotham.  Deathstroke, The Mad Hatter, Copperhead, Penguin, Firefly (who gets some nice time in this trailer), Bane and the Joker are all confirmed.  I’m more impressed everytime I see something new from this installment and I’m rethinking a pre-order.  Batman Arkham Origins will release for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii U on October 25, 2013.

 

Minions Gets a New Release Date (Despicable Me Spin-Off)

One of my favorite movies of this year has been Despicable Me 2 in which they let the best part of the first movie, MINIONS, run completely amok.  In particular, the fireman minion brigade put me on the floor.

If you didn’t know, the Minions are getting their own movie (oh pleeeease do not ruin the Minions, Universal).  Originally Minions was going to be a big holiday release for 2014, but it has been moved back into the ever-shifting summer of 2015: July 10th to be exact.  This is the area where Despicable Me 2 did so well this year and also the period vacated by Pirates of the Caribbean 5‘s move to 2016.

So no Pixar movie in 2014.  No Minions in 2014.  2014 is going to be a saaaad year for animation.  Despicable Me 2 is still in some theaters and has grossed $840.5 million worldwide to date.
