Pacific Rim Blu Ray/DVD Release Date and Details

Pacific Rim didn’t quite do it for me.  I went in and for whatever reason it just didn’t connect.  Anything in a Jaeger/Kaiju scene I loved, but the through plot felt like it had nothing of del Toro in it.  A bomb at the box office in the States, the picture may still get a sequel because of the film’s enormous popularity in China.  I’ll give this one another chance.  It seems all the elements are there: giant robots, monsters, my own freaking last name as the giant robots and giant robots.  Also giant robots.  Blu Ray/Specs:

The 2-Disc Standard Definition DVD Special Edition contains the following special features:

– Audio Commentary by Guillermo del Toro

– The Digital Artistry of Pacific Rim
– The Shatterdome
– Focus Points
– Deleted Scenes
– Blooper Reel

In addition the Blu-ray editions of the film will include all of these and an exclusive featuerette titled “The Director’s Notebook.”

On October 15, the movie will also be available for download in HD or standard definition from online retailers including but not limited to iTunes, Xbox, PlayStation, Amazon, Vudu, CinemaNow and more.

 

Robocop Photo Gallery: Seven New Production Stills

2014’s first big release is a reboot of the 1980’s action series Robocop. We got a good first look at this promising reboot with Friday’s trailer and here are seven more images from the film to spark the imagination.

Robocop stars Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson and opens in theaters on February 7, 2014.  Official synopsis below:
