American Assassin Trailer #2 (2017) *It Takes One to Kill One*

If you’re a fan of the Robert Ludlum/Tom Clancy military espionage thriller genre of novels, you may have discovered Vince Flynn when his literary career took off in the late 1990’s.  His main protagonist, Mitch Rapp, is a really interesting creation and I always enjoyed the series which is now being continued by author Kyle Mills since Flynn’s tragic death at only 47.  American Assassin is chronologically the first novel in the Rapp series, and the first two trailers for the film adaptation (click here to watch the first) starring Dylan O’Brien (The Maze Runner) and Michael Keaton is impressive and looks like it could be something to liven up the traditional doldrums of September when it debuts on September 15, 2017.

Game of Thrones Season 7 Trailer #2 (2017 – HBO) “Winter is Here”

At the end of last season, Daenerys’ (Emilia Clarke) dragons and her immense army were finally on the way to Westeros, where Cersei (Lena Headey) has now become Queen after the death of her children. The Night King’s (Vladimir Furdik in season 6) army is heading south, and a battle appears to be imminent.

Though we don’t know exactly what’s coming, Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, tweeted this last year: “Just finished reading season 7, s**t gets REAL. I’d start preparing yourselves now… scratch that, nothing will prepare you for this… Holy BALLS.”

The show is based on the novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George R.R. Martin. Last season, however, the TV series moved past the point where the books have stalled.

Disney Fires Han Solo Directors With 3 Weeks Left in Filming. What Now?

Han Solo Star Wars Spin-off

UPDATE 6/22/2017: RON HOWARD HAS OFFICIALLY SIGNED ON TO TAKE OVER DIRECTING THE FILM AND IT LOOKS LIKE SIGNIFICANT RESHOOTS ARE COMING.

Recently, I wrote an article urging Disney to keep Star Wars at Christmas release dates.  The changeover was to begin with next year’s Han Solo spin-off being released in May 2018 (click here to read that article).  It looks like that’s a given, at least for Han Solo as the entire project has been thrown into upheaval following the announcement that Disney had fired directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (The LEGO Movie) from the project just three weeks before the completion of principal photography.  Directors leaving a project before a film begins isn’t uncommon.  Directors leaving during a project is a huge deal.  Directors, who seemed absolutely perfect for this sort of film, being fired three weeks before they finished their cut is astounding.  I have never seen directors removed this late in the process.  While Disney scrambles to find a replacement, fans are freaking out on Twitter, and the entire future of the project seems in doubt.
