The San Diego Comic Con or, just, Comic Con has become Geek Mecca over the last decade, mushrooming from a comic book show into a mass media orgy.  There’s so much happening and so many panels that cover so many different fields of entertainment, that rather than paste several hundred thousand words of text in here, I thought it best to direct you to the official site:

The organizers have the events broken down by days from July 23 – July 27 and a scheduling tool that, if you’re brave enough to venture into the maw of raw geekdom, will help you plot out the best use of your time.  It’s always a busy time with a lot of announcements and I’ll try to keep the site updated with the biggest and then do daily wrap-ups with all of the poster and promotional art that will be coming out.

Caesar, Andy Serkis, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes In a summer that has provided more disappointments  than any in recent memory, there’s a kind of twisted logic behind the best movie of the summer being one from which I expected nothing at all.  That’s right.  Dawn of the Planet of the Apes isn’t just a good sequel or a good entry in the series.  It’s a great film that is mandatory viewing for film fans this summer.
