In his last video for the new Star Wars: Force for Change charity, JJ Abrams showed us the first creature from Star Wars Episode VII. This time we get a look at the new design for the X-Wing. Money for charity; nuggets of geek goodness for fans. Win win.
Killing Time 
JJ is ahead of the game. I’m not saying all this charity stuff is just PR, because it really is terrific that they’re doing it. But it’s mostly PR. To date the stuff leaking out has provided no indication of plot or character. It’s all been about the atmosphere and the worldbuilding. The vehicles in SW have always been characters in their own right. This is what the fans want to see. It’s comforting and reassuring.

Story will come later, when JJ is ready to reveal. Right now he’s showing the world that he’s in an original trilogy groove, and he is doing it brilliantly.

I agree. He’s not going to comment on any of this stuff. He’s going to continue to do things like this X-Wing video to give the fans just enough bait and let them catfight over rumors to their hearts’ content.
