Trailer Time: Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag “Cry Freedom” DLC Trailer (2014)

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be a drastic change for the series.  As Edward Kennaway (the grandfather of ACIII‘s Connor), you’ll be sailing the high seas, and Ubisoft‘s first look at the single-player DLC shows us that you’ll be getting to know your crew.  The DLC: Cry Freedom focuses on one crewmember, Adewale:

Born a slave, Adewale found freedom as a pirate aboard Edward Kenway’s ship, the Jackdaw. 15 years later, Adewale has become a trained Assassin who finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue without weapons or crew. He now has to acquire a ship and gather his own crew to free the slaves and avenge them. Over 3 hours of new single-player gameplay!

The trailer is…intense.  This is going to be some extremely hard-hitting story territory, but I like that they’re fleshing out the crew so it’s not just Kennaway you get to know over the course of the game.  Ubisoft didn’t give an exact date for the Cry Freedom DLC, but my guess is very late 2013 or early 2014.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag releases October 29th for this generation consoles and at launch with both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
