Destiny 2 Complete Achievement List (2017-Xbox, Playstation)

The sequel to Bungie’s immensely successful shooter/MMORPG Destiny drops tomorrow, after some seriously gorgeous trailers, but I have to say….as a fan of achievements….THIRTEEN?  There are 13 achievements for the entirety of what, if Destiny is any indication, will be a game that gets you fired from your job and destroys your human relationships?  That’s weird.  I don’t think I’ve even ever seen a major release with fewer achievements than this since the dawn of ….achievementdom.  But Destiny freaks (of which I’m not one) won’t really care.  They’ll fly from planet to planet, shooting things and scraping up loot endlessly for years.  Friends and family will feed and water them as they devolve into nothing but trigger fingers and atrophy; their skin becoming translucent from lack of sunlight.  That’s how addicting this game gets for some.  Destiny 2 will also have a story mode, but I have a feeling it will be largely ignored in favor of said shoot & loot.  The game releases at midnight, September 6, 2017.  Achievements, courtesy of xboxachievements.com. POLL RESULTS: Best Video Game of 2014

Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor

The votes are in and the KT community has chosen Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor as the video game of 2014.  This was my pick as well.  I’ve sunk nearly 90 hours into the game and I’m only 33% through the plot.  It just makes hacking your way through Sauron’s army in a pre-Hobbit Middle-earth that much fun.  Coming in second was the polarizing but addicting Destiny, and Watch Dogs and Titanfall came in at a tie for third.

Thanks to all who voted and get ready for our next poll, our most solemn duty as time killers of the year, as the Oscars announce their nominations, we will begin the heated and always-close process of choosing The Killing Time Community Film of the Year.  In 2013 it was The Dark Knight Rises.  Last year, it was Gravity.  Which film will be our pick this year?  Get ready to vote!  It is your duty as minute stabbers!

NEW POLL: What Was the Best Game of 2014?

I really can’t grasp the gaming industry’s business model.  Release all your AAA games within a few weeks of each other and then let all but a few drown each other as they compete to the death.  There’s no better example of this than the complete gamer’s death valley that is the summer.  You get Madden (which fortunately this year was the best installment in a decade) and NOTHING else for four months.  Sure, people want games around Christmastime, but doesn’t it make sense to release a good slice of those games when the target market receiving those games at Christmas have nothing to do OTHER THAN PLAY GAMES! Trailer Time: Destiny Launch Trailer (Xbox/PS – 2014)

With the beta finished, Bungie has released the launch trailer for their first non-HALO project in years: Destiny.  The open world shooter/MMORPG has been wowing us with every trailer and the reports from E3 are that it’s going to live up to its promise.  FRom all reports the Beta went very well.  I want this game to eat my September.  Just munch it whole.  Destiny releases for Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4 and PC on September 9, 2014.
