Top 5: Movies of 2014 (anticipated)

Sure it’s only five months into 2013, but I’m always looking ahead.  What do I see standing out on the horizon for next year?  It’s early and usually the only movies you know about so far in advance are franchise movies, so something that doesn’t have as much hype yet, may not be on my radar.  Most of the art below is fan made, but a nice tide-over for the real stuff.  While it may not be the monster year 2015 is shaping up to be, 2014 has plenty to anticipate.

Christopher Nolan Interested in Matthew McConaughey for Interstellar

I think I’ve been pretty upfront with my Nolan worship.  Let’s make this clear: best director working today.  Bar none.  I hear he’s doing a movie and that movie instantly becomes my most anticipated film of the year.  Post-Batman, Nolan’s first film will be Interstellar, a science fiction film based on the theory of wormhole travel (if that doesn’t click, grab a Trekkie and they’ll explain).  He’ll be writing the screenplay with his brother Jonathan and he apparently wants Matthew McConaughey for the lead.  I trust Nolan so much that this doesn’t make me nervous.  Nope.  Not a bit.  There was a time I couldn’t stand Gary Oldman and now he’s Commissioner Gordon to me forever.  I trust you, Chris.  I’ll be there November 2014 when Interstellar opens.
