POLL REMINDER: Rate Star Wars The Last Jedi

VOTE VOTE VOTE!  If you haven’t already voted, The Last Jedi review poll will remain up until January 5th.  Currently 1/10 is winning followed by 10/10.  Every number from 1-10 except one has been used to rate this film which is polarizing the Star Wars fan base.  Don’t wait, get your vote in before the polls close.

Following this poll will be the Most Anticipated Films of 2018, and the our biggest poll of the year: our SIXTH annual reader’s choice for Best Film of the Year (which has been won the last two years by Star Wars films…though that’s not looking like a solid lock this year).

Kylo Ren Reacts Reviews Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The Last Jedi is rolling through box office barriers.  It’s passed $300 million domestic and $600 million international in gross and it hasn’t even opened in China yet.  The film, however, has sharply divided Star Wars fans as to some of the critical events.  I’ll weigh in with more details on what I thought after the holidays, but here with a VERY SPOILER INTENSIVE REVIEW is none other than Auralnauts’ Kylo Ren.  For Kylo’s thoughts on The Last Jedi going into the film or his review of Rogue One click on the link and enjoy.

POLL: Rate Star Wars The Last Jedi

The Last Jedi is well on its way to the second largest opening weekend in history (behind only The Force Awakens).  For both that film and Rogue One, we ran month-long reader polls so everyone could weigh in with their score on the newest entry in the Star Wars Saga.  My review of Episode VIII was very mixed after one viewing, but Cinemascore is tracking audiences giving the film an “A” rating commensurate with Episode VII and Rogue One.  I’ll be very interested to see your ratings and hear what you thought (without trolling me, please, no one loves Star Wars more than I do and I really could do without a reader revolt) of the film.

Following this poll will be our biggest of the year: our SIXTH annual reader’s choice for Best Film of the Year (which has been won the last two years by Star Wars films).

Movie Review: Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) *SPOILER-FREE REVIEW* UPDATE 2

Mark Hamill in Star Wars: The Last Jedi

The Last Jedi is the biggest film of 2017, and one of the most anticipated films since…well, the last Star Wars film.  Normally, for blockbuster films I try to post spoiler-free reviews, but I’m going to be even more careful with this, because this is a film that everyone is going to go see regardless of what my initial reaction was, and I don’t want to color their impressions going into the theater.  My simple review, and I honestly wouldn’t read more until you see the film, is exactly what Luke says in the trailer: “This isn’t going to go the way you think.”

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi International Trailers #2 & 3 “It’s The Only Way To Become Who You Were Meant to Be”

The second and third international trailers for Star Wars Episode VIII have dropped.  While the second offers only a little additional dialogue from Kylo in his speech about killing the past, the third gives some new footage.  Unlike all the other trailers, the third international trailer, reminds us that The Last Jedi is picking up right where The Force Awakens left off (the first time there has never been a time lapse of at least a year between Saga episodes).  We also get a quick look inside Canto Bight and a little more of the Battle of Crait.  10 days, people, we’re down to 10 days!!!!

In Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the Skywalker saga continues as the heroes of The Force Awakens join the galactic legends in an epic adventure that unlocks age-old mysteries of the Force and shocking revelations of the past. The film stars Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.
