THIS! IS! AWESOME! 300 is a movie bursting with so much testosterone that watching it at home may cause your home theater to grow hair. I plan on re-watching (for the umpteenth time) 300 before 300: Rise of an Empire comes out and doing a full review, so I won’t go into the movie. Suffice it to say, I’m a fan. In picking my favorite scene, you have the obvious “This is Sparta!” or “Tonight we dine in Hell” choices, but as the majority of the movie is combat, I thought I would pick my favorite portion of the battle and that would be Leonidas and the brave 300 against the Persian Empire’s Immortals. The scene is a bit long so it’s divided into two parts and it is NOT FOR THE KIDDIES!….but it is awesome.
In this elongated Oscar season (due to the Winter Olympics), you have to wonder if the extra weeks of voting will matter more. In a normal year, we’d be having the Oscars next week or may have already had them. We still have two weeks, to go so it stands to reason that the BAFTA results may sway some voters sitting on the fence in this extremely tight Oscar season. If that does hold true, then it appears 12 Years as a Slave has Picture and Actor nailed down and Gravity stands ready to sweep everything technical and take Director. Read below for the full list of winners and the Oscars will be handed out March 2nd; just thirteen days from today. Check out the full list of winners below courtesy of Coming Soon. This is 20 seconds of teaser for the trailer (I know that’s absurd, but consider it an appetizer) that will premiere on Jimmy Kimmel later tonight. Hopefully, it’ll leak online sooner, but here’s your first look at live footage from the Marvel cosmos. Guardians of the Galaxy opens August 2, 2014.
Set between the events of “Episode III” and “IV” — an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen – “Star Wars Rebels” takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape.
That’s the set-up for Star Wars: Rebels which will make a feature length debut on the Disney Channel this summer and then move to Disney XD for season one. It seems odd, but if you want an early look at things, sometimes the best way is to see what LEGO sets are planned for the particular franchise (you can see Guardians of the Galaxy LEGO sets already). Here are two of the main ships from the series and a LEGO look at the main characters.
